Baitcraft News: Get the Latest on Carp Bait and Boilies

Welcome to the Baitcraft news section, where you can keep ahead to the carp fishing times and see the latest update on Baitcraft carp bait recipes, Boilies under development and any important ordering information. Our news section is also handy for keeping up to date on any offers on carp baits and bulk Boilies from Baitcraft.

Updated by Mark regularly, Baitcraft news is the reliable internet source for news on specialist carp baits and Boilies, you can also check backdated news bulletins on here for any queries you may have for the Baitcraft team- your question may already have been answered.
We've been making steady progress with the testing of the K if you look at my blog and the K gallery you'll see for the lads have been nailing a few we are now looking for further field testers to supplement our existing team, so if you're interested get in touch on 07954 259095 but please bear in mind this isn't a free for all.

There are certain requirements for becoming a field tester for Baitcraft, you must have the ability to submit all you catch to the catch report section of our website. That means a decent digital camera a PC or lap top with broadband and rudimentary knowledge of how to use both.

You must be engaged in a serious fishing campaign on a domestic water with a reasonable head of big fish, when I say big fish I mean big for your area and not of 'dubious' origin from 'pigs in a puddle' type venues that will see their publicity value downgraded when you catch them.

The bait is not for resale under any circumstances and we are not supplying base mix to hookbait makers or other rollers of any description, you'll have to fish with what you're provided with and it is for you or a designated baiting team use only not for making a quick buck selling it out of the back of your van.

You will be expected to make your results public and submit catch reports to carp talk and keep doing so whether they publish them or not, so don't bother applying if there is any restriction on publicity. The only reason you're being taken on is to publicise a product we already know is devastatingly effective if you don't submit regular reports you'll be dropped.

If you're the type of guy who has a complicated life and can't commit to this project don't waste our time or yours and furthermore if you aren't an experienced competant angler this project is not for you, we don't want to fall out with anybody so don't be offended if I politely refuse your application because you don't yet meet the requirements we don't discriminate on the basis of gender creed or religion just ability so be ready to back your application up with examples of consistent form.

The deal is as follows the bait is £5.00 per kilo plus VAT and carriage there is a minimum order of 30Kg per order, pop ups and glug will be £5.00 and a 5 kilo bag of the K pellets is £15.00. If your interested let me know.

Cheers

Mark
Hi All,

I've updated my blog after a long quiet spell due to shear pressure of work and a bit of fishing myself please have a peep at it from time to time and keep in touch with your own news we're glad to hear from you.

We have a new field tester on board who's been recruited from within our own ranks after 3 years of consistently catching on our products - could you be the next one - to be honest we had no idea Steve had caught so many he just used to ring up and order his bait without any fuss.

Are you a potential field team member? We'd far rather recruit from within our own ranks so if you've been keeping schtum maybe it's time to spill the beans and get a bit more involved.

Keep In Touch

Hi All,

we've been working with our birdfood supplier for some time now to try and get some consistency of colour in the product they supply us. The last 4 tonnes we've received have all been different colours from an dark orangey brown to a deep burgundy! The final solution has been achieved by me taking full responsibility for the colour and adding the dye myself whilst I'm making the basemix so this will hopefully be the end of it.

The bait is now somewhere between the original colour and what you've been getting of late so don't be surprised if the T1 appears a slightly different shade when you next buy it. The colour is the only thing we've changed so don't panic and lose confidence in our product we're just trying to take responsibility for the consistency of the bait.

Hi Guys,

we've endeavoured to shake off your mid winter blues with some recession beating prices in our online shop, log on for details.

Hi All,

just to keep you posted on the current status with new products, there have been rumours circulating !

There has been a demand for a dedicated winter bait from us, our message has been plain and simple all along - stick with the T1. I know for many of you I'm preaching to the converted however the shops are insisting there are some who need something bright that smells of fruit to feel like they're fishing 'properly' in winter.

I have access to both new and long forgotten winter bait components that will ensure that we deliver the requirement with enough innovation to justify entering the dedicated 'cold water' bait market.

The new bait is called SNOW BALL and as well as being an off white - cream colour and smelling of Blended Citrus Fruits it contains amongst other things hydrolysed (predigested) casein, hydrolysed whey, milk salts, milk peptides, calcium caseinate, alpha lactalbumin, beta lactoglogulin, and rennet casein. It's NOT a high protein product but it DOES most definitely comprise cutting edge nutritional milk protein fractions and highly digestible energy sources which are not only extremely attractive to carp (and barbel) will deliver a very useful source of nutrition for fish if you decide to apply the SNOW BALL properly (little and often to known winter feeding areas).

As with all our products there is no need to 'introduce' fish to SNOW BALL they will just eat it from 'the off'. Some of the milk fractions we have used have what can be described as a rather 'subjective' taste. Used in combination with the Essential Oil based label and a sweetener the bait has a 'sweet and sour' taste on the human palate with a distinct 'tingling' sensation on the tongue. As it's for Carp not humans you'll probably find fish enjoy it more than you do.

SNOW BALL will be available in the shops next weekend in 12 and 14mm (check your local stockist has some on order) with pop ups to match.

We have also been thinking about future all season products and have a number of options available to us, all of which will catch carp. There is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest and this is the bait we are going to proceed with for further testing. As well as the usual suspects we are going to need about 50 additional 'field testers' to help confirm the bait which will be known as 'SPECIAL K' will work in all waters in all weathers.

We haven't deviated a million miles from the T1 base mix but the combination of attractants we have used has left us with a very 'different' alternative to the T1. what's it like? - think powerful savoury, meaty, spicy / smoky type aroma and you aren't far off. We'll only be using subscribers to this site for extended testing of the product if you're interested in applying for testing you need to have applied by the end of December to me direct on 07980 664698 as the programme begins very early in the new year to take make use of any available cold water time this winter.

The planned release date of this product is still 24 months away and will only be available to field testers during this period so if you don't want to participate in the programme now please understand that it is not available until we're finished testing.

Regarding the existing T1 range we will be adding two different frozen pastes to the range one for hookers and one for wraps as well as adding a T1 pellet and possibly a stick mix by early next year.

That's all for now

Happy Hunting
